On May 19th 2007, the Rotary Club of Washington DC held its forth annual wine tasting and auction event at the French Embassy, which was aimed to raise funds in support of its charity projects, and to familiarize the participants with a variety of wines from different countries.

The event was attended by around 300 guests, representing business, diplomatic communities of Washington DC as well as US political elites. USA, Poland, Latvia, Macedonia, Georgia, France, Japan, Republic of Moldova etc. were the main countries that presented their wines at this social event.

The Republic of Moldova was represented at the event by its Embassy in Washington DC, together with the companies “Wines of Moldova”, exclusive importer of Milestii Mici wines and “Graystone Wine Imports”, which represents Cricova Acorex in the USA.

The Moldovan wines were highly appreciated by the wine aficionados who had the opportunity to enjoy a large range of collection wines from Milestii Mici and the best wine brands of Cricova Acorex.

The money raised as the result of the wine auction was directed to the implementation of charity projects for HIV infected children in South Africa and Romania, victims of malaria in Malawi and for humanitarian relief for senior citizen in Jamaica.
